Interns at Camp
Woolman Community Interns are a wonderful part of the camp community. They work as field instructors leading educational workshops, assist counselors as trip leaders, and have fun with campers playing games, leading activities, working together on chores, and sharing meals.
Interns are here as part of the year-long Community Internship program, in which young adults from around the country engage with peace, justice, and sustainability education through working with The Woolman Semester, Woolman summer camps, and the campus garden and kitchen.
In the Camp world, interns can be powerful forces---leading camper activities, introducing new clinics and interests, speaking for the heart and voice and the community during reflective moments, and even serving proudly to camp needs for set up, kitchen help and garden supervision. As the camp community is intentionally kept small to preserve that special kind of family feel, the interns who are present can make up a significant portion of the staff present during the summer.
